Our Pledge
Having established ourselves as one of Canada’s largest fresh and frozen seafood distributor, ALLSEAS Fisheries Corporation recognizes its added responsibility in leading the way to support the sustainability of our global marine ecosystem.
To this end, and in an effort to achieve our goals, we are members in good standing of the Marine Stewardship Council and the Ocean Wise Conservation Program. In association with MSC, we endorse the sustainable fishing practices that contribute to the health of the world’s oceans, and by using their ECOLABEL, we encourage consumers to make conscious decisions when buying seafood. ALLSEAS also cooperates with other program partners, in the hope of making the seafood market increasingly sustainable. The Ocean Wise Conservation Programis a Vancouver Aquarium effort designed to educate, enlighten, and empower consumers about the vital issues that surround sustainable seafood.
More than just a proclamation, ALLSEAS supports suppliers who source sustainable seafood, and we urge customers to choose sustainable seafood alternatives, whenever possible. We understand the enormity of this undertaking, and we recognize this as an ongoing process, requiring our full commitment, and the continuous education of our staff, customers and the general public.
As more and more people become aware, and get directly involved in the sustainability initiative, we feel that our oceans will have an opportunity to recover, and once again become environmentally balanced.
